Yey, Chemistry!
Monday, November 2, 2009 @ Molar Volume Lab
Today in class we performed an experiment to determine the molar volume of gas. We had to determine the expected value for the molar volume of Butane at STP (Standard Temperature and Pressure)

For this experiment we used a:

- Butane
- Sink
- Water
- 100 mL graduated cylinder
- Weight scale

1.) First collect all yhe materials neede and bring it to your lab station.
2.) Fill your sink 3/4 of the way with water.
3.) Measure your lighter and record it.
4.) Put your graduated cylinder underneath the water and hold it there.
5.) Take your butane lighter and put it in the water underneath the graduated cylinder.
6.) Click your lighter on and watch as the bubbles of gas float the the top of the cylinder.
7.) Click off the lighter when it reaches 10
8.) Measure the lighter and record it.
9.) When you're finished, drain the sink and dry the materials used. Put them away and make sure you cleaned your lab station.
